Answer: What is the detailed Exam Pattern for Railway RRB ALP (Stage 1 & Stage 2)?

· The RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) selection involves two consecutive written examination stages. The detailed pattern for both is structured as follows:

· CBT-1 (Stage 1 - Qualifying Screening Test):

  • Total Questions: 75 Objective Type MCQs | Time Duration: 60 Minutes.
  • Subject Breakdown: Mathematics (20 Qs), Mental Ability/Reasoning (25 Qs), General Science (20 Qs), and General Awareness (10 Qs).
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd (0.33) mark deducted for each wrong answer. (Note: CBT-1 marks are not added to the final merit list).

·         Total Time Duration: 2 Hours and 30 Minutes (Split into two parts).

·         Part A (100 Questions - 90 Minutes): Covers Mathematics, Reasoning, and Basic Science & Engineering Drawing. Final selection merit is strictly calculated from Part A marks.

·         Part B (75 Questions - 60 Minutes): Based entirely on your chosen Technical Trade. This is purely qualifying in nature; you must secure a minimum of 35% marks to pass, but these marks are not added to the merit list.

·         Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for incorrect responses in both parts.

Q. What is the Exam Pattern for RRB ALP Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT / Psycho Test)?

·         Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each test battery individually to qualify. No relaxation is given to any category.

·         Negative Marking: There is absolutely no negative marking in any part of the CBAT exam.

·         Merit Weightage: This is a crucial merit-deciding round. 30% weightage of your CBAT marks will be added directly to 70% weightage of your CBT-2 Part A marks to calculate the final selection merit list.

·         Language Option: The test is available only in English and Hindi. (Note: Clearing the A-1 Medical Standard is mandatory before or after this stage).
